TISDALE, SK – The Tisdale Trojans have committed a roster spot for the 2022-2023 SMAAAHL season to 2005-born goaltender Lane Beal (Warman, SK), the team announced at the conclusion of spring camp this past week.
Beal, 16, is a veteran of the league, having spent the 2021-2022 season playing for the Saskatoon Contacts, where he posted a 5-6-0 record with a 3.45 goals against average and .879 save percentage.
“Lane is a poised, hard working individual who has experience at the U18 AAA level.” said Trojans goaltending coach Ashley Kuechle. “His composure, athleticism and competitive nature allow him to be a well positioned, controlled goalie who can battle to the end of all plays."
“He was very motivated to earn a spot at spring camp, and we are looking forward to his arrival in Tisdale this fall.” added the Trojans coaching staff.
Beal is expected to be a part of a very strong tandem in goal for the Trojans together with returning netminder Brady Kashuba (2005).
“I'm excited to be a Trojan” said Beal. “I'm looking forward to the start of the season”
